In silver gilt and enamels, a white cross pattee with surmounting crown, obverse medallion with the inscription and reverse 19 1878, worn on red ribbon with rosette denoting IV class, measures 39mm (w) x 69. 9 mm (h), minor enamel wear to crown, otherwise intact, remains very fine. Contained in original case of issue, red leatherette exterior denoting IV class on the lid, silk interior lid and velvet base, measures 70 mm
