In silver gilt, a blue enamelled cross with eagles in each quadrant, swords pierce the central medallion, the obverse medallion features the cypher of Carol I, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed IN FIDE SALUS, encircled by a green enamelled wreath, the reverse medallion features the year 1877 on a red enamel field, surrounded by a green
