Germany, Imperial. An Observer’s Badge in Silver certificate_of_authenticity It is dated to Danzig(Beobachterabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silver with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, surrounding a central red enameled square medallion bearing a black and white checkered centrepiece, overlaying a ribbed void, the reverse with two visible prongs securing the obverse medallion in position, with a raised barrel hinge
