Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and souther Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with an intact beige paper liner and dark grey backer indicating Luftwaffe issue, the shield measuring 51. 72 mm (w) x 61. 45 mm (h),
